My First Haiku and Limerick

by Gil Camporazo

Haiku

Funny doing it
for takes a wit and wisdom
and for sure it will

Limerick

If you think you can
whether you're a man or a woman
Everything seems easy
Or else we become sissy
By not fulfilling our life's plan

Forms of Poetry

These forms of verse writing like Haiku and Limerick are inspired by Arthur Chappell, my fellow myLot user who interacts, discusses, posts articles on the mentioned site, myLot.

With his valuable on line tutorial on how to write haiku and limerick, I am able come up with these instant verses as my first haiku and limerick.

Haiku poem writing is attributed to the Japanese writer named Masaoka Shiki at the end of the 19th century. It is a poetry of 17 syllables. While limerick is another form of poetry which takes the form of one in five-line, predominantly anapestic meter with a strict rhyme scheme (AABBA).
