The day so speaks

'Tis a unique love story unfolded
Of junior students, a boy and a girl
Who never thought so fully ended
That their first meeting had a whirl.

Seeing each other at the school campus
At the open study hall when the rain fell
He took a glimpse and taking a pause
Dismayed as he was, a word couldn't tell.

Time so quick for fast friends they became
His writing prowess, a missive sent
His heart's desire reached her no shame
Unperturbed, unscathed, an honest intent

Under the Mabolo tree often they met
After school hours together they went
Happy as they were, in walking cadence feet
With gaily hearts knew each other meant.

Well, are they meant for each other?
With their synchronous birthdays -
Same date, same month and year
Ought are they happy always.

Note: This poem I have written to recollect our loving memories with my wife when we were lovers before and that was 50 years ago. Now it's our synchronous birthday today, October 13. It's our 69 birthday.
