paean of teofilo

36.... paean of teofilo 7.27.2017 1048am

you are my rain
and chill limpid
August logic told me
i was secretly
yours too...

but what is the point
you forgot the mark
we solemnly etched
on the bark
of the trysting tree

two hearts linked
as our loins were
in the sentinel dark
of scattered evenings
when the moons were full
on cold clear skies

yet all were lies
adept you are at
swimming in wind
blowing north to northeast
in a middle-aged quest
for milk and honey
to fill limp breasts

goodbye will remain
unuttered by lips denied
to sanctify your sighs..

  1. What a beautiful poem, heart wrenching, you can feel the angst of the author. Do you know him?

  2. Sad note there. But that's a reality. Thanks for sharing the author's work. :-)

  3. Nice piece! That is a poem from the heart. Though it is the sad reality, we should accept it, embrace it, and learn from it.

  4. Wow, your friend is quite talented with words. Thought-provoking poem.

  5. It's refreshing to read poetry in blog posts. It seems no one writes poetry anymore (in social media).

  6. This is one of my favourite paintings of Edvard Munch! We were discussing this series for an entire session of Art History classes. Beautiful words, perfectly matching the art!

  7. Poetry always perplexes me. i wonder what the author wrote and what i understand!

  8. Such a lovely piece of art.. Really wonderful word matching the wonderful art work~!
