Happy birthday, Ma!

Happy birthday, Ma!

"These words are to thank you
for the kind and caring way
you bring so much happiness
into this world each day.

You’re a Mom upon whose wisdom
I know I always may rely
as you’ve guided me so gently
as every year’s passed by.

You have such a special way
of turning grey skies into blue
and there could never be a Mom
who’s loved as much as you"

* Ma is referred to my grade 6 classmate, Anra Jalandoni in La Carlota Elementary School under Mam Lilia Garin in 1966. Anra died today, April 20 of cancer of the bone after she's cured of cervical cancer. She's survived by her 3 children: Dex, Ayan and Ela.

Maria Carissa: It's Your Day

It's Your Day

by Gil Camporazo

Time is flying unknowingly
Getting things done to age
Diverse emotions kept going
Unpredictable courses of life.

What then? Big query asked
Waiting for an answer uncertain.
God created everything for a purpose
For you and me, for everybody.

Well, no man could match
God's mysterious way unleashed
Those accepted Him of faith unmoved
As His spirit children humbly.

Blessed now is the day
Your parents brought you up
This day, your natal day
Glory to God under way.

Happy birthday, Maria Carissa
Your mother is happy in heaven
So as your father and siblings
All wishing birthday greetings.

(n.b. - a birthday tribute to our daughter-in-law, Maria Carissa P. Trenuela-Camporazo who is celebrating her  25th birthday today, December 6, 2018.)

Happy Birthday, Inday Carissa

Charming, caring and loving
This gal when you know her.
    Her smile is so alluring
Only her sweet could tap it so dear.

Amusing when she talks
    Listening to her soft voice
    Makes all folks
    Stand by for no choice.

Releasing her gait
    walking to and fro
Like a model full of feat
    of talents like a pro.

Is there something for you?
    Describing in first meeting her
She could be among the few
    Whose beauty's beyond conquer.

Sad to say, she's not available
Her heart is captured so pure
By a man so humble and gentle
In God's word forever and sure.

Sometimes she's up and down
    Problems may come and go
    Her weakness makes her frown
But she knows God loves her so.

And now this day is worth remembering
It's her birthday to be happy
with her family in humble gathering
    Celebrates it so gaily.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, INDAY CARISSA!

The Girl I Need in My Life

Love in silhouette

I was 17 years old then when I first met my high school sweetheart who turned to be my wife for 43 faithful years now.

I was caught by her shiny, clean, black long hair. I loved caressing it but I couldn't for we'd not got acquainted yet each other.

Late that night, while I was studying my recent taken notes, I stopped and started imagining things out of nowhere. Until, I composed this short poem of adoration.

The Girl I Need in My Life

How lovely is the evening
Thinking a lady in her eyes beaming
Is she the girl I need in my life
To give me joy and happiness for life?

Yeah, the feeling is right
That beautiful damsel emerging in the night
Making me glad, feeling so fine
Till the end of time, she's truly mine.

Believe it or not - and this should be
For we are one - she is me and me is she
She's cute, so frail, so dearly
For time and eternity,
we're in a big family.

Note: I found out it later that we have the same birthdays.

By the way, this is a repost from my article "The Night When I Become Poetic" in ForumCoin[dot]com. I use the username of "Nakitakona" there.

Ma’m Rosario, We Love You!

by Gil Camporazo

Ma'm Rosario and the author dancing

["Why We Are Here?" was written by me in a spur of a moment based in the acrostic ROSARIO.]

Why we Are Here?

Remember what God has commanded His children
"Go ye and multiply", my sisters, my brethren.
"Replenish the earth…" with joy and they’re glad
For He’s with them, their loving and caring God.

Obedience is the first law in heaven
         No chaos, turmoil, disorder’s been
For God has tried His children, big or small
To be faithful, obedient, one and all.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God
In all their dealings and won’t be sad.
From sunrise to sunset all is well
Eternal happiness, their heart will swell.

Anxious for troubles, right and left of them
Of testing their unwavering faith in Him
Couldn't be solved unless they pray
For God, their Savior has the answer as final say.

Reputation makes them eligible per se
To enter God’s kingdom as they would see
         The mansions prepared for them
As they value God’s pure love in them.

In the name of Jesus, they do everything
For He’s their living water that keeps on flowing
To quench their thirst of salvation after sinning
And realizing the pure love of Christ, without questioning.

O God, their God, our God, we humbly beseech thee today
That we are here in this momentous and memorable day
To honor this wonderful woman, we truly endear
To all kindred, tongue and nations, loud and clear.

ROSARIO, that is her precious name
In her own unique way, she’s the best, full of fame
With all might, mind and strength we join her too
By saying, “Ma’m Rosario, we love you!”

This is a poem I composed while I was taking a break inside my office in the school as a tribute to Ma'm Rosario R. Arranguez, district II supervisor as she celebrated her 61st birthday anniversary, that was held at the learning resource center of La Carlota North Elem. School. The district II which I belong handled the afternoon birthday party.
